November The Doors - Baltimore Civic Concert Poster 1970 [ Back to Gallery ]

Wow, what a great Doors poster. November is being posted early because I don't think anything is going to beat this one for the month!

I had never seen this poster before recently acquiring it and it is a total knock-out as far as Doors posters go. Done by the Artist Dail Beeghly, who also did the Jimi Hendrix Experience Merriweather Post Pavillion concert poster, which is one of my all time favorite Hendrix posters. This Doors Baltimore Civic Auditorium concert poster is only the second one ever to have surfaced to my knowledge. The poster is silkscreened and the colors are vibrant.

There were so many fabulous rock groups created during the sixties, it is hard to say which ones were the best; but for me, the Beatles and the Doors are are still my favorites. Something about their music has that timeless element to it, that just keeps getting better and better with each day that goes by.

What a magnificent poster; is also interesting to note that this may be the only Doors poster that highlights "Jim Morrison" in the type layout of the poster. I don't think Jim would have approved, as he always considered the Doors a single group and not a back-up band to himself. Now don't you wish Joplin and Hendirx would have als stayed with that philosophy?
