Beatles, Rolling Stones and British Invasion Concert Posters   [ Back to Select Gallery ]

The British Invasion officially started on Friday, February 7, 1964 when the Beatles arrived at JFK to screaming American fans. The Ed Sullivan performance that weekend resulted in no disappointment when they played 5 songs to a captivated American audience. Even to this day, watching their performance that Sunday it is easy to understand why they became the greatest band in R&R history. What wasn't anticipated however, was the great amount of talent to follow from Britain which would establish their places in R&R history. The creativity and incredible flood of new rock for the next 5 years was truly amazing, even to this day!
